black like me

i say im hip-hop -the culture excluding the raps
the process is the hair excluding the naps
black like me - not black like you
watch me be black - see what i do
the neo-soul - the soul - psuedo-soul
vault the pole-vault - our daughters slidin them poles
black like me fathers absent - our mothers playin their roles
black like us continue the flame like prideful coals - burn
learn - then unlearn, just to learn
i discern that we yearn for the degress we earn - the world turns
in the galaxy thats black like us - black holes the universe
black ho's we spit in our verse - who came 1st?
my black or your black - our black - sometimes we mild
they think our black belong in the wild - *ha*
black like me - they be black like me - the whites to the japanese
be black like me - they embrace our race - but not our face
buy CD's we spit rhymes while they spit in our face...
bet they don't wannah struggle black like me - sambo, blackface - soft-shoe like me.
